David Kennedy – Managing Director, Metals and Alloys
David Kennedy founded Less Common Metals Ltd. (LCM) in 1992 and was Managing Director of LCM until his appointment in November 2008 as Managing Director, Metals and Alloys for Great Western Minerals Group. David has worked with rare-earth materials since 1976 and has published several papers on the technology and economics of rare earth alloy production. Some of his previous experience includes working as Technical Manager at Johnson Matthey Rare Earth Products.
David is a graduate in Metallurgy and a Chartered Engineer; he is also a Professional Member of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining. David has held the positions of Chairman of the Liverpool Metallurgical Society and President of the Birmingham University Metallurgical Society

Dr. Ian Higgins – General Manager
As General Manager Ian Higgins is responsible for the leadership and assumption of responsibility for the annual planning and day-to-day running of Less Common Metals Ltd. He is also directly responsible for overseeing the purchasing of raw materials and other critical supplies for LCM. Ian started working with rare-earth materials in 1993, working in both technical and commercial roles at Johnson Matthey Rare Earth Products before joining LCM in 2001.
Ian is a graduate in Chemistry and Geological Science, holds a Ph.D. in Materials Science and is a Professional Member of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining.

David Murphy – Commercial Manager
David Murphy holds responsible for Sales, Marketing and Customer Support within Less Common Metals. David also oversees the company Quality system and is responsible for Health, Safety and Environmental activities.
Prior to Joining Less Common Metals David was General Manager of Johnson Matthey Rare Earth Products. He has worked extensively within the field of rare-earth materials since 1970 and holds a wealth of relevant experience.
David holds a degree in Chemistry and a postgraduate qualification in Business studies.

Kevin Garrod – Production Manager
Kevin is in charge of the Production function at LCM and, as such, ensures that manufacturing processes are undertaken in accordance with documented and approved technical instructions. His role also incorporates the co-ordination of production support functions such as plant maintenance and warehousing.
Kevin has held positions in manufacturing since 1975 and was previously Production Manager (and Group Technical Manager) at Meldform Metals, during which time the company received ICI's prestigious Supplier Performance Award.
Kevin is a graduate in Chemistry and also holds a Master of Technology degree.
